Sue Fielding Reads Her Love Poem ‘Quartz Hill’

GENERAL: poet Sue Fielding at Olive Pink Botanic Garden is all smilesSue Fielding is an Alice Springs based poet. She is published in Fishtails in the Dust— writing from Central Australia (2009), the Australian Poetry Members Anthology 2012 MetabolismSotto Magazine 2012, and In the Pink—poems from the garden (2012). Beyond Conversation’ is the title of her self-published chapbook (2012).

Sue has shown her work in a number of multi media arts events in Alice Springs. These include: ‘Beyond Conversation’ with visual artists Jenny Taylor and Pamela Lofts, ‘Singing For Their Supper’ with painter Henry Smith, and ‘Walking Country’ with photographers and artists from the Central Australian Bushwalkers society.

In 2012, Sue completed a 6 month poetry residency in the Olive Pink Botanic Garden, Alice Springs, where she offered poetry readings, writing and other opportunities. She compiled a booklet of poetry by participants in the program, called In the Pink—poems from the garden, which was published in November 2012 by [email protected].

Sue participated in a Professional Development residency with poet Deb Westbury in 2012, and was awarded a Varuna Fellowship in 2013. She is currently developing a manuscript of poetry and has been shortlisted for a Varuna Publishers Fellowship in 2013.
